Kori is one of Phil and Lisa’s three daughters and will soon be giving them the gift of their first grandson. When we captured these images a short time ago, Kori & Cosper were not yet certain as to what they would name their first son so we decided to have Lisa write the name options on Kori’s belly for one of the images. Kori & Cosper settled on Paxton and we are looking so forward to meeting him.
Emily and I are so pleased to share the spring cover of Bride and Groom Magazine featuring our wedding image of Shauna Roth Milstein and Ryan Milstein at the historic Adolphus Hotel. A sincere thank you to the team at Bride & Groom and to Shauna and Ryan whose embrace made for such a wonderful image.
When I tell people that Emily and I were recently married, the question that I hear most often is, “Who photographed your wedding?” Well, the answer to that question is an amazing photographer and cherished friend named Diana Henderson. We were married on a Sunday and although she had a wedding already contracted for Saturday she made the drive from LA to Santa Barbara to capture perfectly all our special moments. Since her husband’s parents live here in the Metroplex I had recently had the opportunity to capture a few traditional portraits of her family at the Hilton Anatole. What a pleasure it has been for our relationship to grow from fellow photographers to friends and now to family. We love ya’ Di.

Emily and I captured bridal images of the gorgeous Lauren Blount just before the holidays; however, since her wedding did not take place until this past weekend, we were not able to post images until now to ensure that her husband to be did not happen upon them while on-line. It was a brisk fall day when we met at the Hilton Dallas Park Cities so we spent much of our time inside. Lauren, however, was willing to brave the weather for a few outdoor autumn-inspired images.
Those of us in the Wedding Industry recognize that most of our clients are first time buyers with more questions than answers…especially at first. Wendy Kidd, owner and wedding planner at Each & Every Detail is hosting an information session at TCP Craig Ranch on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 2pm-4pm in an effort to shed some light on all the burning questions that engaged couples may have. Surely, an event not to be missed so be sure to RSVP today.
Photographing the wedding of Kim and Michael in Houston was a great way to start 2010. They started their journey together 5 years ago when they met at the University of Dallas. Studies abroad in Rome kept them apart for much of their courtship but their relationship remained strong. So strong in fact that Kim called Michael to let him know that she had just placed a 100 Euro deposit on a wedding dress in Rome that she just fell in love with at first sight. As Kimberly recounted the story she blushed a bit when she shared that it was a little impulsive given that they were not yet engaged. A fun anecdote that just proves that when it’s right, it’s right.
Who do you think of when I say “Platinum Album”…The Eagles, the Beatles and Michael Jackson or maybe even Madonna? All understandable thoughts however in this case I am referring to Morgan and Ryan Adair’s bridal album. It is always so fun to deliver completed bridal albums and this one was no exception. Morgan, along with her mom and sister, looked through the album slowly and at one point she looked up with a shy grin and said, “Looking at this makes me want to cry.” We assured her that tears of joy are always welcome.

For this book we decided on a clean and stylish design with a nice balance of grouped images and half-panoramic spreads:
Stylish, sophisticated and artistic! These are just a few of the words used to describe Kimpton Hotels’ Hotel Palomar located in the heart of Dallas’ center for arts and entertainment; a perfect venue for your wedding, corporate or social event!
While recently capturing head shots and team photos for Tracie Houston-Amend, Area Director of Sales & Marketing, I found the hotel’s sales team to be equally as stylish, sophisticated and artistic. As if their wide range of experience, professionalism and hospitality are not enough, they are also really fun to work with – the last 2 photos are certainly proof of that!
A team of folks from Hilton Worldwide’s Dallas based corporate office recently decided that rather than having a traditional office party and gift exchange, they wanted to help those in need at this special time of year. The group selected the North Texas Food Bank as their charity of choice to which they donated the money that would have been spent on Secret Santa gifts; who really needs yet another calendar, bartender’s guide or pair of light up singing slippers anyway. I digress! Here are a few facts about the NTFB that I found particularly startling:
$1 donated= 4 Meals for the hungry (The Hilton Team’s financial donation provided 620 meals)
The number of people fed by NTFB pantries monthly would fill the American Airlines Center over 6 times to capacity.
40% of the households served through the NTFB feeding and education programs have at least one employed adult. They are known as the “working hungry.”
As if that was not enough, these hospitality helpers also spent the time that would have been dedicated to their office party volunteering at the food bank - sorting over 21,865 lbs of food that represented 17,082 meals for hungry families. For this group, it truly was the season of giving.
Circa 1986 Whitney Houston said it best when she said that, “The Children are our Future” (I know, I know…I can’t believe that I made that reference either). Regardless, the message still holds true today! OFS Brands and G.L. Seaman & Company put a new twist on their 4th Annual Furniture 4 Kids event benefiting the Mavs Foundation. The change in their event’s format gave birth to a new “Rock On” theme to ensure that they continue to support the kids for years to come.
