Last weekend I had the opportunity to again photograph along side my good friend and photography mentor Jensen Sutta. Our day started in the quaint English town of South Molton where Lisa & Ryan wed. After an intimate ceremony, the day continued with a reception at Tarr Farms Riverside Inn which can only be described as an fairytale inspired countryside inn nestled just above Tarr Steps, a prehistoric clapper bridge across the River Barle in the Exmoor National Park. Thank you as always Jensen for the continued education and inspiration!

And finally, two of my favorite images from the day:
It is always fun to capture images of an engaged couple in an especially fitting place. For Margy & Ed, it was at the New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado. They are no strangers to brewery visits and may even be considered aficionados in some circles. On this, their first opportunity to explore New Belgium, it was a great day for us all: they had a great time together, I got some great photos and…of course…we all tasted some great beer.
Much to the chagrin of loyal fans, an epic battle between Bravo and Lifetime delayed the release of the sixth installment of Project Runway! Fashion reality TV addicts have cause to celebrate this week as everyone’s favorite designer challenge show returns to prime time TV on August 20.
I am not posting this entry just so you can set your TIVO; although I certainly encourage you to so! Season 6 is of particular importance to me because the exceptionally talented and immensely creative Dallas designer Shirin Askari recently approached me to document her product line and will be making her television debut as 1 of the 16 designers. Her designs are just fabulous and she was a joy to work with; not to mention ADORABLE to boot.
Here are a few of my favorite images of her lines. Visit her Project Runway Profile or visit Shirin’s On-Line Store to purchase items from her line. Oh and, of course, tune in and watch Shirin compete to be the best of the best!

At the beginning of the year, while making my way through a very aggressive resolution to organize and back-up images, yet another new resolution was born. I posted a blog entry titled, “A Series of Photog Favorites” containing one of my favorite images along with my musings on how I would enjoy sharing a series of my favorite images…and I quote, “from time to time”. Needless to say, 7 months later, the series has not appeared with the regularity I would have liked however, to be fair, it does meet my very broad and generalized schedule of “from time to time”. But, I digress. I hope you enjoy another one of my favorite images!
P.S. You can look forward to another photog favorite much sooner than 7 months from now…promise!
Phil Taylor is many things: a husband, a father, an entrepreneur and most recently a philanthropist. At his core though, Phil Taylor is an artist. As the founder of The American Fallen Soldiers Project he works tirelessly for an average of 85 hours creating portraits of fallen soldiers that have given their lives protecting our freedom around the world. Phil along with his wife and co-founder Lisa then personally present the completed portraits to the soldiers’ families.
It was my pleasure to document the long awaited grand opening of their gallery in Carrollton which they commemorated with the presentation of three portraits to the families of the fallen soldiers.
Presently, the American Fallen Soldiers Project has a waiting list of well over 100 portrait requests. You can learn more about Phil & Lisa’s efforts by visiting their website at http://www.americanfallensoldiers.com/.
I was minding my own business, determined to capture the perfect timed exposure of a new wedding venue in Denver, CO beautifully washed in morning light. Little did I know that I myself was being photographed! Thanks Jensen…I love the image!
High atop the Dallas skyline the Tower Club offers a lovely atmosphere and tremendous views of the surrounding city. It was here that Lisa chose to host a Shabbat dinner for Shauna & Ryan. It was a fun filled night of tradition with family & friends and I was honored to be there to capture some of the evening’s festivities.
She wasn’t nervous in the least and he was cool, calm & collected! Their wedding day had come; there were no cold feet & the only question was who was more excited to walk down that aisle. After close personal examination…I have no choice but to rule it a tie!
I chat regularly with photographers from as far east as Boston and as far west as Los Angeles. We speak about any number of things but the topic that strikes me most as I prepare this blog entry is how jealous they all are because my brides always seem to want to schedule a Bridal Session. It had escaped me that other photographers were not so fortunate. According to one of my fellow Dallas photogs, “It’s a Southern Thing”. Whatever the reason…lucky me!
I was definitely fortunate to work with Morgan. She arrived looking just stunning with her dress in tow…along with quite an entourage of family and friends I might add. Everyone added a little something to the session as we worked our way though the luxurious V-Spa at the Hilton Anatole. Here are a few of my favorites…which one is your favorite?
